Senior Project Director - Social Development

Cowater is currently seeking a seasoned Project Director with varied social sector experience for a full time position in Ottawa. 

Requirements:

  • Canadian citizen or Canadian landed immigrant;
  • minimum of 15 years of experience with progressively more responsibilities in project management and direction, administration and financial management in a team environment;
  • extensive overseas experience working in several developing or transitional countries;
  • knowledge of CIDA reporting, including RBM;
  • experience as a Team Leader in a social development related sector;
  • excellent writing and proposal preparation skills; and
  • ability to manage projects effectively to meet deadlines.

Assets:

  • Masters degree;
  • high level of interpersonal skills;
  • creative thinker; and
  • high degree of diplomacy.

Based in Ottawa, the position reports to the Vice-President of the Social Development Group and works closely and collaboratively with team members and other groups within the company. 

Duties include:

  • Managing and directing ongoing and new contracts internationally and in Canada;
  • Marketing and business development to win development and management consulting contracts internationally and in Canada;
  • Overseas travel will be required;
  • Providing expert technical input to projects in remote and difficult locations; and
  • Assisting the VP in corporate management and business planning.
