October 2014: Cowater Awarded Second Assignment with the Government of Nigeria
Under this assignment, Cowater will be working with the Kogi State Accountant General to build capacity and modernize internal auditing techniques to better comply with extant laws, carry out operations efficiently and provide better independent internal oversight for managing public funds in the State. Cowater will modernize and strengthen internal audit structures, procedures and performance; improve internal control and risk management practices within the MDAs; and develop a training manual to set out the policies, standards, and procedure for internal audit function.
The overall objective of this World Bank – funded Public Sector Reform and Development Project is to ensure good governance through the promotion of accountability and transparency in the utilization of public financial and human resources.
This project will be managed by Cowater’s Public Financial Management and Accountability Group, a Cowater division recognized for its work to strengthen Supreme Audit Institutions and build public sector audit capacity worldwide.
