April 2010: Cowater to Provide Gender Expertise to AusAID and its Partner Countries in the Asia-Pacific Region

Cowater has been selected by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) to provide the services of four gender specialists to its Gender Equality Support Services Panel. The purpose of the Gender Support Services Panel is to enhance the quality and effectiveness of Australia’s aid program by providing high quality gender equality advice to country and regional programs and program enabling areas. Cowater’s experts will provide services to:

  • ensure that AusAID initiatives are based on international good practice on gender equality, Australian and regional lessons learned;
  • link AusAID to other high quality gender specialists and networks;
  • assist AusAID’s Gender Adviser(s) to implement and integrate Agency gender strategies and policies; and
  • contribute to AusAID’s knowledge of gender equality issues and effective implementation of this knowledge in a development context.

The “Gender Equality Support Services Period Offer” is anticipated to begin within the following months and will continue for a three-year period.
