Mr. Racicot is a hydrogeologist and water supply expert, and has almost twenty years of experience designing, implementing and managing ground water studies and demand-driven water supply and sanitation projects. His international experience spans over fifteen years and includes assignments in Ghana, Eritrea, Nigeria, Chad, Uganda and the Philippines. He has served as Team Leader/Project Manager on four major rural water projects in Africa, including most recently the CIDA-funded Hydrogeological Assessment Project in Ghana. Implicit in the projects in which he has participated is project planning and development, technical design and monitoring, financial controls, and mentoring. Working in partnership with stakeholders in the water sector, Mr. Racicot has participated in the development of strategies and approaches for the implementation of demand-driven water supply projects. He has facilitated workshops and developed training programs to build capacity in water point siting principles; aquifer analyses for sustainability; tendering and contract administration; water point construction/rehabilitation methods; selection of appropriate technologies; monitoring and evaluation; and cost recovery mechanisms.
