Cowater International supports more effective action in addressing development needs in the Pacific region
AUCKLAND, September 5, 2024 – Cowater International was delighted to co-sponsor the Council of International Development Aotearoa, New Zealand Annual Conference 2024. This year’s event, entitled: Global Development, Competing Priorities in a Conflicted World, was hosted in Wellington, New Zealand from September 4-5, 2024.
Cowater International supported the event, reflecting our strong commitment to strengthening partnerships and development solutions that can reduce poverty and improve prosperity for communities around the world. This year’s Annual Conference sought to highlight the complexities and challenges the development sector has faced over the last 12 months and aimed to identify opportunities to drive better development outcomes. Given our history and strong ties to the Pacific region, our Cowater International New Zealand office sponsored the conference dinner with Alastair Brookes, Cowater New Zealand Country Manager, delivering a short introductory speech.
Climate Resilient Development, Sustainable Blue Economy, Renewable Energy, Agriculture, and Water Supply and Sanitation are areas particularly relevant in the Pacific and the Pasifika, who are greatly impacted by the effects of climate change. Cowater International’s global expertise in delivering large and complex projects in these sectors, with funding from the governments of Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK, as well as a host of multilateral organizations, aim to support the effective transfer of implementation knowledge and practices to build more resilient, inclusive and prosperous communities.
