Cowater International will support Egypt’s sustainable energy agenda
Cowater International is pleased to announce a recent contract award under the EU FWC SEA2023 Lot 01 – Climate Change. The project “EIB Preparatory Studies (OPS1) number 1: Phase 2 of the Construction and Upgrading of Distribution Control Centres” in Egypt will involve a detailed feasibility study, including technical, economic, and financial analyses. The study aims to evaluate an investment programme for establishing advanced Distribution Control Centres in Egypt. The project will run for 12 months, starting in January 2025.
The modernisation of Egypt’s distribution grid is a pressing priority for the Government of Egypt and aims to align the country with the evolving energy landscape and accelerate the energy transition. By advancing grid investments, the initiative will support reducing reliance on fossil fuels and cutting carbon emissions, contributing to a more sustainable energy future. This project is a cornerstone of Egypt’s Country Platform for the Nexus of Water, Food, and Energy (NWFE) Program, launched in July 2022, to drive the country’s climate agenda forward.
