Trade and economic development

We work with governments, the private sector and civil society to strengthen enabling environments for growth while facilitating access to economic opportunities for SMEs. Our approach centers on harnessing market forces to improve livelihoods and reduce poverty while also mitigating the impacts of market failures. Our experts work at the local level to improve the export readiness of local enterprises, strengthen local value chains, and enable women’s greater engagement in the labour force. We also work at the national and regional levels to facilitate the negotiation and implementation of inclusive trade and investment agreements that benefit all members of society.
