Cowater International is a global leader in designing and implementing GEDSI-targeted programs, as well as mainstreaming GEDSI across diverse sectors. Our approach is based on the intersectional Gender-based Analysis Plus (GBA+)[1] model, which helps reveal systemic inequalities across diverse contexts and the differential impacts of policies, programs and initiatives on diverse groups of people. As community members face different barriers and have unique needs, we develop and implement transformative programming and strategies suited to the local context that contribute to gender equality, women’s empowerment, disability and social inclusion across sectors. Our approach involves working collaboratively with governments and civil society, especially organizations that promote the rights of women and people with disabilities, to support them in setting their agenda and advancing women’s rights and gender equality.
