Cowater implemented this CAD 12.8 million project from 1998 to 2002 which aimed to modernize the land title register in Lebanon. This project had three majors’ components which have been deployed; (1) The design, development and installation of operational Information Systems for the management of an Integrated Registry System (IRS) within each of the nine registry offices located throughout the country, plus a National Integrated Registry System (NIRS) to be located in the central registry office. (2) The design, development and implementation of a Conversion Programme to enable the conversion of more than 2 million paper-based titles to computer-based electronic and digital records. (3) The completion of an Implementation Programme to install and activate IRS and NIRS systems, which involves the site preparation, the training of the systems administrators and the end users, and the technical supervision.
