This two-year, CAD 4.12 million project (2000-2002) was designed to implement a Programme Based Financial Management Information Systems (PB-FMIS) in each of the three British Caribbean Overseas Territories. This DFID-funded initiative aimed to support the strengthening of core financial management functions and accounting reform in the British Caribbean Overseas Territories. To achieve its objectives, the project was divided in five majors components: (1) the implementation of a new Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS), (2) a review of the Organization Design, (3) the implementation of a new budget cycle including new procedures and administrative policies related to the budget cycle, (4) to increase and to streamline governments’ Operations and, finally, (5) to support the implementation of the Government Wide Area Network.
