2007-2008 | Global Affairs Canada | CAD 58 000

The “Contextual Gender Analytical Study of the Productive Safety Net Program (PSNP)” project was a component of the Food Security Sector-Wide Program supported by seven development partners, aimed to identify how the different needs of women and men can be better addressed throughout the program implementation cycle, and how relevant institutions and processes can be made more gender-sensitive. The agency provided the Gender Specialist on a World Bank-led team to conduct the analytical study, and provide recommendations for strengthening the project, its Monitoring and Evaluation Framework and its Program Implementation Manual. A progress and implementation review report recommended that a gender-contextual analysis of the PSNP be undertaken at all levels, from communities to institutions, with the aim of better understanding how gender relations impact the implementation of the program. Cowater produced the contextual gender analytical study of the project.
