Sub-Saharan Africa - Burundi

2018-2018 | World Bank | CAD 228 000

Through this World Bank-funded project Cowater led a tax audit of the mining sector in the Republic of Burundi, with the aim of strengthening the governance of the mining sector. The objective was to have a balanced and transparent document on the overall taxation of the Burundi Mining Sector. This assessment aimed to create the conditions for an effective recovery of royalties from the exploitation of mineral substances. This audit, as a component of the PRCIEG project, was part of this drive to improve the mobilization of revenues from the mining sector.
