The “Evaluation of Gender Training Program” project was a five-month, USD 22,700 initiative undertaken with the financial support of the Government of Canada provided through Global Affairs Canada (GAC). The initiative, through the Women in Development Unit, adapted the gender equality course for the agency staff at Headquarters, finalized and published the facilitator’s manuals and supporting materials, and conducted workshops for the training of trainers. Cowater provided the following services: development of the evaluation methodology and work plan that outlined the activities and their timeframe; review of existing training materials for the program; review of evaluations from program workshops; review of relevant on-going programs by bilateral and multilateral agencies in gender training; interviews of workshop participants from the agency’s country offices, local counterpart organizations and Headquarters, social sector specialists, and training teams; participation in a country workshop; and comparison of the training program with the ones offered by similar agencies.
