Gender Period Offer

South and South-East Asia - Australia

2010-2013 | AusAid / DFAT |

Cowater provided, on an as-needed basis over a three-year period, four gender specialists to AusAID’s “Gender Equality (GE) Support Services Panel”. The purpose of the Panel was to enhance the quality and effectiveness of Australia’s aid program by providing high-quality GE advice to country and regional programs and program-enabling areas.  Gender equality is at the heart of economic and social progress, and is widely accepted as essential to sound development practice.  Cowater’s experts provided services to ensure that AusAID initiatives were based on international good practice on GE, and on Australian and regional lessons learned; linked AusAID to other high-quality gender specialists and networks; assisted AusAID’s Gender Adviser(s) to implement and integrate Agency gender strategies and policies; and contributed to AusAID’s knowledge of GE issues and effective implementation of this knowledge in a development context.
