This governance and gender mainstreaming technical assistance project was carried out in three target districts of Indonesia, two in South Kalimantan and one in West Java.  Elements of the project included: institutional capacity development of district governments in the context of decentralization of public service delivery and regional autonomy, particularly with respect to gender-responsive planning and budgeting; strengthening government/civil society inclusion and cooperation, particularly around planning and budgeting; leadership development; enhancing the legal framework for gender-responsive governance; and documentation of best practices.
