Haiti WTO Trade Negotiations Support Project

Latin America and Caribbean - Haiti

2019-2020 | FCDO | CAD 413 000

The purpose of this one-year project was to provide advisory and logistical support to Haiti to negotiate a series of changes in its WTO bound tariff ceilings in Geneva, in order to align them with their CARICOM commitments. In parallel, the project is building the capacities of the Haitian civil servants involved in the tariff negotiations with WTO members, and developing an econometric model for analysing tariff concession impacts by Haiti in the future. As a subcontractor to Carleton University, Cowater is facilitating the project’s effective and efficient implementation through the provision of M&E expertise and logistical support. The assignment is being delivered through the DFID-financed Trade and Investment Advocacy Fund (TAF2+).
