Impact Evaluation of the Rural Water and Sanitation Project (RWSSP)

Latin America and Caribbean - Honduras

- | Global Affairs | CAD 59,000

The “Impact Evaluation of the Rural Water and Sanitation Project (RWSSP)” project was a two-month, CAD 59,000 initiative undertaken with the financial support of the Government of Canada provided through Global Affairs Canada (GAC). The initiative provided services of potable water, latrines and health education to the 22,500 inhabitants of rural and peri-urban communities, strengthening their capacity to operate, maintain and manage their own water systems. Contracted to perform an impact evaluation of the Rural Water and Sanitation Project, Cowater’s multidisciplinary team used a variety of participative and consultative methods to measure the impacts and measurable effects on the target population in terms of quality of life, gender equity, affordability of the systems, replicability of the model and other impacts; and lessons learned as well as best practices.
