Leadership for Local Development (LLD)

South and South-East Asia - Indonesia

2010-2016 | Global Affairs Canada | CAD 13M

The “Leadership for Local Development (LLD)” project was a six-year initiative undertaken with the financial support of the Government of Canada provided through Global Affairs Canada (GAC). The initiative supported local democratic governance and involvement in social development and enhanced engagement and participation of civil society actors in decision-making processes at the local level by strengthening and expanding the outreach functions of several Islamic institutions of higher learning. In addition, the project strengthened the State Islamic University’s own institutional management and governance processes in order to “model” good practices and to enhance their effectiveness in social and leadership development – particularly in relation to their outreach programs.
