The Emergency Job Creation Programme for the Private Sector in the Gaza Strip aimed to restore development capacity and foster economic growth in four blockade-affected industrial sectors of the Gaza Strip, as well as to relieve economic hardship for vulnerable refugee families. The objective of this assignment, conducted by Cowater International (formerly Transtec) was to provide UNRWA with continuous project monitoring and evaluation support and to assess the overall impact of the project on relieving economic hardship for refugee families in Gaza, and restoring sector capacity and fostering economic recovery and growth in key industries affected by the current blockade.
