Cowater delivered this £560,000 project from 2009 to 2011 which provided support to the senior managers of the audit service of Sierra Leone (ASSL) in developing and implementing their strategic development framework and improving quality assurance of audit activities. This included providing a range of back-office support and advice on strategic issues of relevance to the ASSL such as implementing new quality control procedures; developing and implementing a program of management coaching for senior staff; assisting with the management of the technical assistance program by providing recommendations to the Auditor General for the management of inputs from all technical assistance under the program; and liaising with the technical assistance provider in identifying the most effective program inputs.
