In 2007, this CAD 700 000 project aimed to strengthen Small-Medium Enterprise (SME) finance to substantially increase the leasing capacity and activities in the region. To do so, four majors’ components were deployed; (1) review of the credit approval procedures and methodology to investigate and ensure the legal framework of the SME finance framework, (2) assessment of the risk management process, (3) establishment of an SME leasing unit within the leasing company and (4) training the lending officers according to the best practices in credit technology.
