Scott Ruddick
Scott is a recognized expert in risk management within international development, with over 20 years of experience in some of the world’s most challenging environments. He has led security operations across four continents, implementing strategies that prioritize the protection of people and assets while ensuring the continuity of programming in complex, dynamic environments.
As Head of Global Security at Cowater International, Scott oversees security systems that protect staff, partners, and program participants, while promoting inclusive, gender-responsive practices. He advocates for equitable partnerships between the Global North and South, ensuring security systems that are contextually relevant and informed by local needs.
Previously, Scott served as Director of Operational Security at CARE, Global Security Director at MEDA, and worked as an independent risk management consultant with numerous international organizations. He has also served as an adjunct professor at several universities.
Scott holds an MBA from Royal Roads University and a Diploma in Security Management from ISMI. He is a Chartered Security Professional (CSyP) and a Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP).
