Cowater is currently delivering a Global Affairs Canada-funded, CAD 5 million project (2018-2023) with the the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) of the Government of South Africa, focused on increasing accountability, efficiency and transparency of the public administration, while improving their delivery of more gender responsive services to the South African public. This will be achieved through the provision of technical assistance to the DPSA to design and pilot the implementation of the Public Administration Ethics, Integrity and Discipline Management Technical Assistance Unit (PA-EIDM-TAU). The project will support the research and design of the unit, then pilot its various services and operations, while simultaneously supporting its full implementation across the Government of South Africa. Once established, the PA-EIDM-TAU is intended to centralize the function of managing ethics and integrity within government, in order to provide government with sufficient oversight.
