Latin America and Caribbean - Central America
The “Gender Equality Fund (FIG) Evaluation” was an initiative undertaken with the financial support of the Government of Canada provided through Global Affairs Canada (GAC) . The initiative promoted the equal participation of women in the sustainable development processes in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. The scope and focus of the evaluation included: assessing progress made towards the achievement of results; evaluating how the Fund applied the agency’s Policy on Gender Equality in Central America; assessing the relevance, appropriateness, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability of the initiatives supported by the Fund; considering the relevance of the Fund and its three program priorities in the context of the region, and each country’s needs; assessing the management factors that contributed to the Fund’s objectives and results; determining how the Fund is perceived by local stakeholders involved in gender programming; and identifying lessons learned and providing recommendations for guiding the agency’s gender equality policies and initiatives in Central America.
