In order to support and strengthen the ability of the Office of the Auditor General of Uganda’s to carry out audits in an IT environment, audit the country’s Integrated Financial Management System, utilize a risk-based audit methodology, and utilize audit software tools, Cowater implemented this USD 183 000 project in 2007-2008. Cowater worked with Uganda’s Supreme Audit Institution on a range of supporting activities, including assessing and updating existing audit manuals to align then with international standards, updating the audit staff training program to utilize current methodologies, supporting the Office’s IT Strategic plan, and train a group of master trainers in automated audit software and Computer Assisted Audit Techniques.
