Statement of Continued Support for the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact News

17 July, 2025

Since 1985, Cowater International has worked with partners around the world to deliver lasting results that drive inclusive and sustainable growth in emerging and developing economies. As a global development consulting firm, our work naturally aligns with the United Nations Global Compact, and we reaffirm our commitment to its Ten Principles, covering governance, human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.

People and Inclusion

Respect for people is central to our mission. We collaborate with governments, communities, civil society, and private sector partners to achieve meaningful social, economic, and environmental impacts. Inside our organization, we foster a safe, inclusive workplace free of discrimination and harassment. Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) are core values, and we are actively integrating GEDSI into all projects and operations. We adhere to the “Do No Harm” principle and have zero tolerance for abuse, human trafficking, child labour, or modern slavery, prioritizing the safety and welfare of all involved in our projects, both on-site and online. As a responsible employer, we uphold our “Duty of Care” to ensure the safety and security of our staff.

Environmental Commitment

We recognize that a healthy planet is vital for sustainable development. Our Environment and Climate Change Policy guides us to take a precautionary approach, seek continuous improvement, and show leadership in environmental stewardship. We work to reduce our environmental footprint and mainstream sustainability into our decisions and operations, protecting natural resources for future generations.

Ethics and Anti-Corruption

Cowater International maintains the highest ethical standards, upholding zero tolerance for bribery, extortion, or corruption. Our Code of Conduct, Anti‑Corruption and Fraud Policy, and whistle-blower mechanisms apply to all employees, suppliers, consultants, and partners worldwide.

Looking Ahead

In the coming year, we are committed to further embedding sustainability into our work. We will continue to partner with clients, colleagues, and communities to deliver solutions that are both inclusive and sustainable.
