Sub-Saharan Africa - Senegal
Cowater is implementing this Global Affairs Canada-funded project focused on increasing the capacity of relevant government departments and agencies in Senegal to improve their management of public funds, while ensuring they offer more efficient and quality services. These services are carried out in the framework of the “Plan Sénégal Émergent (PSE)”, a national programme for economic and social development, and to implement policies and programs related to Canada’s sectors of intervention in Senegal. More specifically, the main objectives of the project are to contribute to the achievement of the PSE outcomes and mitigate the fiduciary risks associated with the budget support mechanisms. To this end, this project will strengthen the capacities of the five targeted sectoral ministries; the Ministry of National Education [MEN], the Ministry of Employment, Vocational Training and Crafts [MEFPA], the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Equipment [MAER], the Ministry of Industry and Mines [MIM] and the Ministry of Women, Family and Gender (MFFG).
