BWA Water Transformation Project

Latin America and Caribbean - Barbados

2015-2021 | Canadian Commercial Corporation | USD 27M

The purpose of this project was to modernize the Barbados Water Authority’s revenue management systems to create a more efficient and sustainable public water authority that serves the people of Barbados. This initiative was being implemented in conjunction with the installation of nearly 100,000 domestic and 4,000 commercial smart water meters capable of automatically transmitting water usage data to the BWA. Using the data from these meters, the modernized, multi-component management information system (MIS) that Cowater is developed and installed enables the BWA to more accurately capture and maintain information about its customers and their water consumption, ensuring accurate and complete billing and increasing consumer confidence in the island’s water service.
