Remote and impoverished communities that are present when extractive companies break ground are rarely equipped to benefit from new economic opportunities. Cowater International works with companies, international donors, and governments to support the economic and social development of mining communities, ensuring that the needs and perspectives of local citizenry, including women and vulnerable groups, such as children and youth, inform local planning and development. Our projects invest in the local labour force, develop local supply chains, and find inclusive and sustainable solutions to social challenges. We work with our clients to build a durable social license to operate, by aligning with local development priorities and achieving long-term cost savings.
