Sub-Saharan Africa - Regional - Sub Saharan Africa

2019-2020 | World Bank | USD $ 420 000

Cowater was contracted to work with four African Regional Development Organisations (SADC, ECCAS, ECOWAS and IGAD) to develop Gender Strategies and Action Plans (GSAP) for disaster risk reduction, recognizing the importance of building resilience to natural hazards that is inclusive to all segments of society, given the different vulnerabilities of women and men. Cowater’s project developed these Gender Strategies and Action Plans in collaboration with each organization, strengthening their ability to combat both climate change and gender inequality.
