Sub-Saharan Africa - Liberia

2010-2014 | World Bank | CAD 2.8M

This four-year project supported the deployment of the Standard Integrated Government Tax Administration System (SIGTAS) for the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) of Liberia. The objective was to modernize and computerize the operations of the BIR. This included the analysis of the country’s tax types, the analysis of the operations and of the organizational structure. The solution was deployed including full documentation, training to power users and post-implementation support. The outcome was to tailor SIGTAS to the most recent recognized revenue practises, draft a new set of procedures, support the computerization component of the project and build capacity by coaching a team of power users throughout the project (Business Analysts and Technical staff), training a team of trainers and to coach managers after the implementation to optimize the utilization of the new solution.
