Preventing and responding effectively to gender-based violence is critical to the well-being of women, girls, and their communities. Cowater International designs and implements programs that address harmful social norms and build the capacity of key actors to prevent and respond to gender-based violence, using a strong rights-based and survivor-centered approach and respecting the principle of Do No Harm. As part of this programming, we work with women and girls to increase awareness of their rights and tackle harmful ideas of masculinity by engaging men and boys.
